The Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) is a global network of organizations that propel entrepreneurship in emerging markets. ANDE members provide critical financial, educational, and business support services to small and growing businesses (SGBs) based on the conviction that SGBs will create jobs, stimulate long-term economic growth, and produce environmental and social benefits. Ultimately, we believe that SGBs can help lift countries out of poverty.

The South Africa Chapter is made up of more than 60 members who work to support SGBs. 13 of these members have their headquarters in South Africa. Participating organizations work together on initiatives specific to the region, and to promote a healthy ecosystem for South African SGBs. Members benefit from the opportunity to network and learn from other like-minded organizations, as well as gain links to ANDE’s extensive regional and global activities. The chapter continuously engages with South African centers of influence and stakeholders to keep abreast of the challenges, progress, and the state of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in South Africa to act as an advocate and neutral convener for the sector.

In addition to providing ongoing member-services and communication through the various ANDE platforms, the Chapter hosts regular events and supports research and other activities to strengthen the sector.
