The EIB Institute is organising the fourth edition of its Social Innovation Tournament!
The Social Innovation Tournament is the flagship initiative of the Institute’s Social Programme. It is organised every year in a different country to reward and sponsor European entrepreneurs whose primary purpose is to generate a social, ethical or environmental impact.
Projects are typically related to fighting unemployment, marginalisation of disadvantaged communities and promoting access to education in a wide range of fields, from education and health care to natural or urban environment, through new technologies, new systems, and new processes.
- Individuals or teams from (or residing in) the European Union Member States, Candidate and Potential Candidate Countries or the EFTA countries may submit proposals to be implemented in one or more of these countries.
- The tournament is open to not-for-profit and for-profit organisations, young entrepreneurs and social enterprises, corporate responsibility departments of private sector companies of any size, NGOs, government or local government entities and university communities
All projects compete for a
- General Category 1st and 2nd Prize of EUR 25 000 and EUR 10 000 respectively.
- Projects addressing the topic of equal opportunities with a special emphasis on people with disabilities will also compete for the Special Category Prize of EUR 25 000.
