Application Deadline: 1:59 PM EDT on September 1, 2016.
The Greek Diaspora Fellowship Program (GDFP) is a scholar exchange program for Greek universities to host a Greek-born scholar in the areas of collaborative research, curriculum co-development and/or graduate student teaching and mentoring. The GDFP is funded by a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) to the Institute of International Education (IIE). With this grant, IIE aims to support 40 fellowships over two selection cycles that will create collaborative, mutually beneficial engagements between Greek and North American academics and universities.
- Accredited private and public universities in Greece are eligible to submit a Project Request proposing collaborative activities with a Greek-born scholar.
- Eligible scholars must have been born in Greece and currently hold a terminal degree and an academic title at an accredited university in the United States or Canada.
All projects are collaborations between the host institution and the visiting Fellow, with project requests submitted by the Greek universities. The online portal will be available beginning June 1, and project requests must be submitted by August 1 to be considered for the first round of grant selection.
Prospective hosts are eligible but not required to name a proposed scholar in a project request, and host institutions and prospective Fellows may collaborate on ideas for a project that is then submitted by the institution. Greek-born academics in the U.S. and Canada who wish to be considered to collaborate on a project should email GreekDiaspora@IIE.org.
