This year long industry placement scheme is developed to provide an in depth understanding of each functional area (outlined below) within Sony Music and an overall insight into the way a record label and entertainment company works on a day to day basis.
In addition to the 12 month exposure to an exciting, creative, innovative and entrepreneurial culture, the Intern will be responsible for administration and coordination within the function they are placed. They will establish themselves as a point of contact for any queries relating to these areas by forging strong relationships across the business and with external contacts.
They will need to accurately and efficiently manage a busy workload with conflicting priorities.
The 12 month placement is also paired with a robust learning and development programme which will provide further up skilling and insight into the Music Industry.
In order to thrive at Sony Music, the Interns will need to be passionate and already immersed in popular culture with a particular focus on music and entertainment.
Functions these internships will operate in:
- Marketing (UK and International)
- Communications & Artist Relations
- Commercial Sales
To provide administrative support to the department, ensuring smooth running of the office – including answering general enquiries, managing correspondence (including archiving and storage), ordering stationery, ticket ordering etc.
Be an ‘ambassador’ for the department, meeting and greeting visitors, and actively participating in all department and Company meetings. Work closely with internal teams and other areas of the business.
Arranging meetings (both internal and external), logistics for the meeting and preparing necessary documentation to facilitate. Taking minutes and isolating action points in department meetings.
Creating Purchase Orders for relevant departmental invoices, ensuring these are assigned to the correct project and accounted for in the relevant budget.
Booking travel arrangements and hotels for team where required.
Keep abreast of market developments, new technologies, market conditions in order to suggest concepts and ideas through ongoing research, brainstorming and discussion.
