The Solent LEP is looking for a young leader (aged 18-30) from the Solent LEP area to represent them at the international One Young World summit in The Hague, The Netherlands between 16th – 21st October 2018.
The One Young World summit is the largest and most impressive global forum of young leaders in the world. It brings together the most valuable young talent from global and national companies, NGOs, universities and other forward-thinking organisations from over 190 countries, whom are joined by world leaders, acting as the One Young World Counsellors.
At the Summit, delegates debate, formulate and share innovative solutions for the pressing issues the world faces.
At past Summits delegates were joined by a line-up of Counsellors that included Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Emma Watson, Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, Sir Bob Geldof, Kofi Annan, Sir Richard Branson, Meghan Markle, Professor Muhammad Yunus, Jamie Oliver, Jack Dorsey and Mary Robinson.
The young ambassador representing the Solent LEP region will interact with business leaders throughout the summit, take part in plenary sessions and meet other young leaders. The Solent LEP ambassador will attend the summit with a view to link their experience to the work of the Solent LEP’s remit of supporting economic development.
Ahead of the summit, Unloc, the organisation organising the scholarship, will work on a communications plan with the ambassador including planning blogs, vlogs, posts on social media and news articles – linking this back to the future of the solent region and the economy of the region.
- As part of the scholarship, The Solent LEP will cover the cost of you attending the summit including economy transport, accommodation and sustenance.
