The Young Leaders’ Forum is an event gathering young professionals between the ages of 24-38 from the Central European region, who are active in the field of innovation, to discuss innovative initiatives, improve their leadership potential, and learn new skills that will make them more competitive in their field of expertise.
The aim of the think.BDPST Young Leaders’ Forum (YLF) is to invite and give opportunity to young and talented innovators both from social and natural sciences to share their ideas and discuss the most important regional challenges with each other, while also initiating a dialogue with each other.
The think.BDPST Young Leaders’ Forum features outstanding young professionals (aged 24-38) soon to become important actors and decision-makers in the field of innovation, urban design, transport, automotive industry, informatics, and the connected social sciences and legal studies. YLF is the only forum in Central Europe that gathers young professionals from the region who are active in the field of innovation, and provides them a platform where new innovative initiatives can be discussed and employed. YLF connects experts from the fields of social sciences, engineering, and natural sciences to create a bridge between these fields and help young decision makers to make their innovations more effective and to better understand different aspects of current issues. In the meantime, YLF makes it possible for these young professionals to improve their leadership potential and learn new skills that will make them more competitive in their field of expertise.
The main purpose of YLF is to foster a lively dialogue among young innovators, inventors, entrepreneurs, PhD researchers, policy experts active in public administration, and young professionals working at companies that are investing in innovative projects. During the four-day event, participants have the opportunity to exchange best practices, experience, ideas, and knowledge, and improve their skills through panel discussions and workshops.
Key Features of think.BDPST Young Leaders’ Forum 2019
The programme of YLF 2019 focuses on issues connected to smart societies. There are two main topics to be discussed in different formats during the forum: innovation in the housing system and the effects of cyber developments and digitalisation on democratic political systems.
The first part of the programme is focusing on innovative urban space with special regards to the current housing models and trends. How innovation in housing affects the costs and standards of living? How innovation in housing influences the changes and development of the urban space? What kind of social problems can be tackled or solved by the new housing trends?
The second part of the conference is about the aspects of e-democracy. How do our online activities affect our political behaviour? How democratic is e-democracy? What is the connection between digital innovation and fake news?
As YLF is about embracing the inner leadership potential of our selected participants, the programme also includes panels, workshops and face-to-face/small group consultation with an expert to make it possible for participants to develop their leadership skills and gain more practical knowledge.
