Application Deadline: Feb. 13, 2017
Applications are now open for the 2017-18 Robert Novak Journalism Fellowship Awards Program.
TFAS is searching for outstanding print and electronic journalists with less than 10 years of professional experience to apply for our 2017-18 Robert Novak Journalism Fellowships. This prestigious year-long program awards $75,000 full-time fellowships and $35,000 part-time fellowships for writing projects committed to advancing constitutional principles, a democratic society and a vibrant free-enterprise system.
Submitted projects should be both original and publishable. Full-time and part-time award winners will deliver four quarterly writing installments with the potential to be published sequentially or as a book. There are also Alumni Fund Fellowships funded by donations from former and current Novak Fellows. Alumni Fund Fellowship winners write one magazine-length article on their topic. Applicants should indicate the intended publishing outlet for their completed project.
Applications and materials must be submitted online or postmarked by Feb. 13, 2017.
- Finalists will be invited to Washington, D.C., next spring for interviews with the judges, and the winners will be announced at an awards dinner at the National Press Club.
- The fellowships will commence on Sept. 1. Applicants must be citizens of the United States.
